AI Usage Policy

AI Usage Policy

The Journal of Technology Informatics and Engineering (JTIE) adheres to the principles of publication ethics and integrity in line with the standards of Committee on Publication Ethics and best practices required by Directory of Open Access Journals. The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in manuscript preparation must be transparent, responsible, and limited.

1. Human Authorship and Responsibility

All manuscripts must represent original intellectual work by human authors. AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT or similar systems) must not be credited as authors. Authors retain full responsibility for the content of their work.

2. Acceptable Use (Restricted)

AI tools may be used in a limited capacity for:

  • Language editing and grammar correction
  • Improving clarity and readability

AI must not be used to generate core scientific content, interpretations, or conclusions.

3. Prohibited Practices

The following are strictly prohibited:

  • AI-generated manuscripts or substantial sections of text without human authorship
  • Fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of data, figures, or references
  • Use of AI to produce inaccurate, unverifiable, or non-existent citations
  • Any use that violates research integrity and ethical standards

Violations will result in rejection, retraction, or editorial action.

4. Mandatory Disclosure

Authors are required to disclose any use of AI tools in the manuscript (e.g., in the Acknowledgment or Method section). Example:

“AI tools were used for language refinement only. All content has been reviewed and validated by the authors.”

Failure to disclose AI usage constitutes a breach of publication ethics.

5. Accountability and Verification

Authors are fully accountable for:

  • Accuracy and validity of all statements and data
  • Proper citation and originality
  • Verification of all AI-assisted outputs

AI tools cannot assume responsibility for any aspect of the manuscript.

6. Confidentiality in Editorial Process

Editors and reviewers must not upload manuscripts or confidential data into AI systems. The peer-review process must remain secure, confidential, and compliant with ethical publishing standards.

7. Compliance and Enforcement

JTIE reserves the right to investigate AI usage and request clarification at any stage. Non-compliance may lead to:

  • Manuscript rejection
  • Retraction of published articles
  • Notification to affiliated institutions if necessary

All AI usage must comply with the journal’s policies on Publication Ethics, Plagiarism Screening, and Research Integrity.
