Peer-Review
JTIE employs a strict double-blind peer-review process, which involves evaluation by at least two independent reviewers. The Action Editor then makes the final decision on acceptance or rejection. The editorial workflow is outlined in the flowchart below, with detailed notes provided for each stage of the process.
Pre-Check Submission
Upon submission, the executive editor conducts an initial evaluation to determine:
- The relevance of the manuscript to the journal or special issue;
- The qualifications and background of the authors;
- A plagiarism check using Ithenticate: A report will be generated to identify any text duplication and potential plagiarism, with recommendations for text modification and additional citations.
After this initial assessment, the manuscript is assigned to an action editor based on the manuscript's subject matter and the editors' availability. The action editor will manage the manuscript, ensuring they have no potential conflicts of interest with the authors. If the action editor determines that the manuscript does not meet the journal's quality standards or falls outside the journal's scope, it will be rejected without proceeding to the peer review process
Peer-Review
At least two review reports are collected for each submitted article. Suggestions of reviewers can be made by action editor during pre-check.
The following checks are applied to all reviewers:
• That they hold no conflicts of interest with the authors;
• That they hold a PhD;
• They must have recent publications in the field of the submitted paper;
The reviewers will submit their reports on the manuscripts along with their recommendation of one of the following actions to Action Editor:
• Accept without revision
• Consider after minor revision
• Consider after major revision
• Reject: Manuscript is flawed or not sufficiently novel
Final decision of articles acceptance will be made by Editors according to reviewers comments. Publication of accepted articles including the sequence of published articles will be made by Editor in Chief by considering sequence of accepted date and geographical distribution of authors as well as thematic issue.
