SINTA ACCREDITATION

SINTA 2 — Nationally Accredited Journal in Indonesia

Journal of Technology Informatics and Engineering (JTIE) is officially accredited SINTA 2 (S2) by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia.

SINTA (Science and Technology Index) is Indonesia's official national system for indexing, evaluating, and accrediting scholarly journals. The system is administered under the Indonesian government and serves as a national benchmark for assessing the quality, consistency, editorial management, scientific contribution, and academic performance of scholarly journals published in Indonesia.

Indonesian accredited journals are classified into six accreditation levels, from SINTA 1 to SINTA 6, with SINTA 1 representing the highest national accreditation level and SINTA 6 representing the entry accreditation level.

SINTA Level National Accreditation Rank Accreditation Score Position
SINTA 1 (S1) Rank 1 85–100 Highest national level
SINTA 2 (S2) Rank 2 70–<85 Second-highest national level
SINTA 3 (S3) Rank 3 60–<70 Upper-middle level
SINTA 4 (S4) Rank 4 50–<60 Intermediate level
SINTA 5 (S5) Rank 5 40–<50 Accredited level
SINTA 6 (S6) Rank 6 30–<40 Entry accreditation level

What Does SINTA 2 Mean?

SINTA 2 is one of the highest levels of national journal accreditation in Indonesia and is the second-highest category within the six-level SINTA system.

Achieving SINTA 2 indicates that a journal has successfully undergone a formal national accreditation assessment and has demonstrated strong performance in scholarly publishing standards, including editorial management, scientific quality, peer-review practices, publication consistency, article quality, and academic impact.

For international authors who may be unfamiliar with Indonesia's journal accreditation system, SINTA can be understood as the country's official national framework for evaluating and recognizing the quality of scholarly journals. While SINTA and international citation databases such as Scopus serve different purposes and should not be considered equivalent indexing systems, a SINTA 2 accreditation represents a high level of recognition within the Indonesian national academic publishing system.
